The People Wrestling: Medium-dark Skin Tone, Dark Skin Tone emoji depicts two people gripping each other in a wrestling stance, symbolizing athletic competition, playful struggle, or determined effort. This combination pairs a medium-dark skin tone with a dark skin tone, offering an inclusive and personalized way to represent two individuals engaged in wrestling, whether interpreted literally as a sport or figuratively as conflict or rivalry.
As a recently introduced ZWJ sequence, its appearance will differ across platforms as support rolls out. Apple supports this emoji beginning with iOS 26.4+ and macOS 26.4+, while Google, Microsoft, and Samsung have not yet finalized their versions. Expect variation in figure posture, shading, and overall design once these platforms release their own renderings, similar to other emoji sequences with multiple skin tones.
This emoji fits naturally into sports-focused content on Instagram and Twitter/X, especially posts about wrestling matches, gym partnerships, or competitive banter. TikTok users might include it in captions for training videos or comedic wrestling skits, while WhatsApp and Discord communities may use it during playful arguments, gaming rivalries, or genuine discussions about the sport of wrestling.
Its Unicode codepoint sequence is U+1F9D1 U+1F3FE U+200D U+1FAEF U+200D U+1F9D1 U+1F3FF, part of Unicode 17.0 and Emoji Version 17.0.
